THE AFFIRMING PROJECT
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Affirming Project was founded in response to one family’s fight to protect a 14-year-old boy who was outed without consent and emotionally punished for being gay. What began as a legal defense campaign quickly grew into something bigger — a movement to protect LGBTQ+ youth everywhere.
We exist to raise urgent funds for legal representation, connect families with affirming resources, and build public awareness around the emotional and mental health challenges LGBTQ+ teens face — especially when their identity is met with rejection at home.
This campaign is about standing up — not just for one child, but for every young person who deserves safety, dignity, and the freedom to be themselves.

"Every LGBTQ+ teen deserves to feel safe and accepted. They need love — not punishment — for simply being themselves."
