Standing Up for LGBTQ+ Youth. Fighting for Their Future.

THE AFFIRMING PROJECT

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Affirming Project was founded in response to one family’s fight to protect a 14-year-old boy who was outed without consent and emotionally punished for being gay. What began as a legal defense campaign quickly grew into something bigger — a movement to protect LGBTQ+ youth everywhere.
We exist to raise urgent funds for legal representation, connect families with affirming resources, and build public awareness around the emotional and mental health challenges LGBTQ+ teens face — especially when their identity is met with rejection at home.
This campaign is about standing up — not just for one child, but for every young person who deserves safety, dignity, and the freedom to be themselves.

"Every LGBTQ+ teen deserves to feel safe and accepted. They need love — not punishment — for simply being themselves."

Our Commitment

We’re committed to using every dollar responsibly and with integrity. Funds raised go directly toward legal representation, court costs, expert support, and critical resources that protect LGBTQ+ youth from unsafe environments. We provide regular updates on how funds are used and the impact they’re making. Our priority is — and always will be — protecting LGBTQ+ teens and fighting for a future where they can live freely, safely, and without fear.
